Review:
Sim4Travel is the most established Sim card provider in the United Kingdom, their customer services is excellent and they deliver the cards within 2 days or shorter should you need express delivery.
Sim4Travel is easy to top-up online and you can login and pay in minutes. You will get a Jersey UK mobile number from them this will cost a little more for your user but it gives you free inbound calls, but it still looks like a UK mobile number.
Sim4Travel is available in a number of stores, which non of the other cards are, Sim4travel can be bought in Tesco’s, Carphone warehouse, Boots, Phones4You and you get it with Expedia and Lastminute.com plus BA and Easy Jet also sells the cards
Sim4Travel have a good cover worldwide and the free calls are available in 50 countries, sim4travel offers a service for people who had their old +423 card for free, which is more than can be said about most of the other providers. It is our most recommended card and sim4travel receives 5 out of 5 in our roaming sims rating.

Sim4travel Reviews
Excellent, Sim4travel Customer Service is available both via email and telephone and will always be helpful and answer your questions, they also have an online balance on their website you can keep an eye on calls and they are transparent in their pricing.

Quality of Calls:
You can’t tell the difference from a normal call, in one situation in France it was almost clearer than a direct call using our mobile operator.

Call Connection:
The fastest call-back be we have tried so far, it almost didn’t seem as it was call back and there was no error messages on the phones we tested it on.

Text Messaging:
As easy as normal Text messaging, the text messages arrives as your Sim4Travel number and the recipient can reply to that number instantly.

Data Roaming:
Not Available yet, but Sim4travel have plans to roll out data roaming this year

Ease of Use:
We put the Sim4Travel Sim card in our phone after having called the number on the pack and within minutes it was working and we had no problems using the card in the following phones Nokia N70, Sony Ericsson W850i, Nokia 6300, Nokia e51 and a HTC Touch Cruise.

Value for money:
Sim4Travel is value for money, their Sim card is the cheapest to buy, and their rates are lower on most destinations so all in all real value for money.

  • They charge you 39p per day if you receive or make one call. If you have not made or received a call in 90 days then they charge you £2 every 30days for the privilege of keeping your money! This fact is hidden in their questions and answers and cost me £14 before I found out

  • Had sim4travel for travel in HOng Kong and Australia and it was fine. But now i have got to New Zealand it was working for a few days in a major city, but is now telling me there is no access to network even tho i have 5 bars of signal. I cannot ring sim4travel from my phone as i have no network- i have tried connecting to all that are available but none of them connect. Just been onto the website and there is no email address so have to pay a bomb to ring from a landline here back to the UK. Also have found that calling cards and local networks pay and go sim cards are cheaper in the 3 countries i have been to than sim4travel. I wouldnt rely on sim4 travel again.

  • Very unhappy with our experience with two sim cards. The operation of our cards in the phone was a bit hit and miss and could not be depended on in Spain, Morocco and UK. Particular difficulties with failure of in-country calls. Quite often even on successful calls had an annoying echo that made it difficult to continue the call. As noted by others text messages seemed to be better than call success rate. Astounding that the web facility does not provide call details for the sim accounts and allow users to monitor for call costs paid and other deductions. Conditions of usage were changed after we purchased cards and have been applied to our account. Perhaps we should have been offered the option of cancelling and getting a refund before the new conditions were applied. While sim4travel show alacrity with deductions there is no service in terms of advising account holders of imminent expiry of account or liability for upcoming deductions. Would like to recharge and maintain one account but will not be using for some time. Pepared to pay minimum advised in faq of GBP10 but when try online minimum is GBP20. In light of the general difficulties seems deliberate policy by sim4travel to not provide an email contact for account queries or issues. Seems to be no coincidence that most recent user ratings are very poor.

  • A disaster for me. Apparently no coverage in parts of the Middle East but still charged for non-connected calls. No customer service e-mail address appears on their website and could not ring them as had run out of credit. Will not be using again. Unable to delete first star so cannot give realistic rating.

  • For those who make only a few calls from their mobiles Sim4travel is very expensive with a 39p connection charge for the first call and then loss of credit if one does not use it for 90 days. Certainly to be avoided by the casual user.

  • I was using sim4travel but found the product too expensive. I have moved to wwww.worldsim.com, the coverage is much better and the price is extremely cheap.

  • If you are thinking about buying an International SIM card take a look at gosim.com. Mine is works really well and they are only £10!!!

  • They have just announced that they will charge you 39p/day just for using the card and if you don't use it for 90 days you lose all your credit. Before buying - look at the small print - not all these cards are the same!!!

  • I am very disappointed with the Sim4Travel service. The main attraction of free incoming calls when roaming did not work throughout my visit to the UAE. Also could not call back to the UK from several locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Next time I will buy a ETISALAT SIM when I land in UAE. Can be bought from the airport.

  • The main selling point of sim4travel is that it's free to recieve(outgoing is no cheaper than three, for instance). As mentioned above the mobile numbers sim4travel gives are Jersey ones, unfortunatly most UK mainland providers regard calls to Jersey as international and charge over 30p a minute. I'm normally with three which would charge me 10p to recieve in europe and people calling me would be able to use their free minutes to make the call. Using sim4travel is a complete false economy in most cases, unless all your friends live in Jersey, you are just passing on the call cost to people back home. You would be far better off transfering you sim to a decent mobile phone provider that isn´t too expensive for roaming, you could also port you number so there is no ned to change(three seem reasonable) I write this after realising that i unwittingly cost my friends a large amount of money after traveling in Europe this summer. Note the other customers who have made comments may not realise how much they have cost their friends. Finally it is worth noting that this website is recieving money from sim4travel and is possibly bias in its review, failing to draw attention to the difference in price when calling Jersey mobiles.

  • Worked perfectly on both incoming ond outgoing calls. I have tried a number of global roaming SIMs during my travels in Europe, but of the three I use regularly, SIM4Travel appears to be the most reliable and in most scenarions is the most cost effective. Highly reccommended!

  • Coverage in Canada for calling to canadian numbers in canada is practically non existent. states wrong syntax for area code interrogation and system is always busy , and asks to try again later but never got through . Could not be relied upon to make a call Canada to Canada numbers, so was useless for purpose purchased for. No one received texts sent Canada to Canada numbers . Was able to text OK and the odd call when system did not say it was busy. Also did not respond every time to 0044 prefix but would respond to +44 when contacting UK

  • I have used a sim4travel simcard for my skiing holiday over christmas, and for a weekend in Dubai with my wife, it worked and the quality was excellent, and best of all I must have saved almost £70 on my calls. So I recommend Sim4Travel. Even the text messaging alone saved me enough to pay for the card in a week.
